This Dolphin Swims Up To A Dog On A Boat And Greets Him
In The Most Unexpected Way
This dolphin is clearly a total sweetheart. While most of us have never been the recipient of a dolphin kiss, it's not that uncommon, given their nature.
Dolphins are widely acknowledged as highly social animals. They live in pods, often of up to 12 individuals. But in some places, they will form a temporary superpod that can contain more than 1,000 dolphins. They are prone to creating strong social bonds, including staying beside those that are sick, hurt or need help.
This sense of altruism even extends outside their own species. They have even been spotted circling around swimmers to protect them from nearby sharks. There is also a recorded incident of a dolphin guiding a whale and her calf out of shallow water.
